This course teaches the techniques and the practical aspects of handling a sailing boat, giving a first hand insight on the pleasures of life aboard.
Boarding is at 1800hs at the Yacht Club Santa
Catarina. At this time, we will have a theoretic class, an
introduction to the boat and its equipment and the discussion
of the route to be navigated the following days. The evening
ends with dinner on board.
Besides teaching the techniques of handling
a sailing boat this course introduces concepts of navigation,
which are put into practice during a sail to São Francisco
do Sul.
This course is thought during a sailing passage
from Florianópolis to Santos. Topics like meteorology
and passage planning will be discussed, introducing the pupil
to the art of skippering a sailing vessel.
